Shelly Nelson - Treasurer

Shelly Nelson was born in Paradise Hill and raised in Onion Lake, Cree Territory, along the Alberta–Saskatchewan border. She grew up learning the values and traditions of her community while spending time outdoors with her family—berry picking, caring for horses, and learning to respect the land.

A proud mother of three children, Shelly is committed to learning and sharing traditional teachings.

She is active in Edmonton, supporting Indigenous events, powwows, concerts, and cultural gatherings, and enjoys exercising in the river valley. Shelly brings dedication, cultural knowledge, and community engagement to her role on the ICAA Board.
