Melanie Lapp - Director

Melanie Lapp is an educator and leader from Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement, passionate about creating meaningful learning rooted in community, culture, and connection. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education with the goal of becoming a principal in her home community.

Deeply committed to reconciliation and Indigenous education, Melanie integrates Cree language, Métis teachings, and land-based learning into her practice. Guided by the principles of wahkotowin (kinship and interconnectedness) and miyo-wîcêhtowin (good relations), she strives to build strong relationships between students, families, and schools, inspiring others through her dedication to teaching, learning, and community engagement.
